Born and raised in Cherry Hill, NJ, singer/song-writer Amy Wooden has been performing in the Philadelphia area for over 10 years. While her first experiences with musical instruments began in the 3rd grade and involved the trumpet and keyboard, her sole passion lies in the beauty and wholesome sound of the acoustic guitar. Her interest and inspiration came mainly from her late grandfather who taught her some basic chords. After that, she taught herself to play and immediately fell in love. Soon after learning to play basic guitar, she began writing her own songs and has never looked back.

According to her mother, her passion for music started at an early age. “She went through a phase at around 2 or 3 years old where she refused to talk. She would only sing!” says Amy’s mother. I guess it’s never too early to start practicing!

Amy has a strong background in choir and was selected to sing for the All-State Choir in her senior year of high school. That experience taught her many things about singing and she embraced the passion that comes along with it.

Although Amy loves performing, she has also developed an enthusiasm for recording. Often times, you will find her performing a show with her “back-up band”, recorded solely by her, loaded onto an iPod for accompaniment. “It just brings the whole show up a notch,” she says.

Amy is currently living in Berlin, NJ and is presently working on her new album. Renaissance woman that she is, she also has an AAS in Nuclear Medicine!
