He slowly decays

Can he clear the baggage?
Can I help him unload?

Is there any way back when you’re almost gone?
Can you plaster the cracks,
Can he do it alone?
What can I do to assist,
But not give the dog a bone?

I can see all the pain
Hidden in those eyes
Hidden behind drugs
To himself he lies
Is there any way to help him change his life?
Or will I watch him slowly die?
