La Llorona

La Llorona Lyrics & Chords

Mexican Folk Song about Mexican-Indian woman who fell in love with a Spanish soldier, married him, and had his children despite the difference in thier social classes. However, the Spanish soldier betrayed her and ran away with a beautiful Spanish lady. The woman, out of her mind in dispair, saw the resemblence of her husband in her children’s faces, became enraged, and slaughtered them. To this day people in Mexico claim that the ghost of “The Crying Woman” can be heard wailing about her lost children by water such as streams. They say if you look into her eyes, you die. Interesting ghost story for interesting music.
