My name is Alain Jacques. I am French by origin and Australian by adoption. I have set in music 72 poems of French Literature and I work in close collaboration with a great French tenor, Jacques POTTIER (see his page on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_Pottier).
Together we have recorded some of my songs sung by him: a first album of 4 of my songs in 2002 with James Canon at the guitar, then an album of 12 songs, Florilège vol. 1, in 2003 with Melchior Martin at the guitar.
Together again we produced an album of popular French songs, Beloved Songs of France, 2006.
Songs from all those 3 albums were broadcasted on Australian FM radios, SBS and ABC at various times.
In the last years we have been working on recording opera arias, and we are completing the album, Beloved Opera Arias, which will be launched in 2010 before Jacques’ 80th birthday. You can listen or download some of his songs and arias at: http://www.muziboo.com/Jacques_Pottier/music
