Some returns for making music

Is it possible to provide songs as download (as ring-tones possibly) for a nominal fee or brownie points (maybe a CCD coupon for the artist on every 10 downloads) ?

This is certainly an interesting model …. right now you can probably scribble the person and request them for the music ……
once we grow a little more, we can probably put an automated system in place for these things …
thanks for the suggestion

Double Akshay on tat….
many of us here are pursuing a career in music n so….just anybody havin a raw copy of the tracks is ……
A system wld be way to elaborate if it has to b secure …. n time takin ….
most of the users are newbies and no techies …. elaborate layouts scare ’em.
requests on Scribble is way to public….
I say make a spam free PM system which can b a personal mode of communication…… PMs btwn people who are in the friends list.
….nthr point….I suppose the sharing of composition shld be on a personal basis …. if u think ur music can earn u a buck…….get ur posterior to the record company! :) …… tho i wldnt mind the CCd coupons (spend a fortune there muhself) but I suppose as this is a non profit site …… who pays up for the coupons ?………………………PD?
wat do u say?

Scribbles might get missed out……also, if we are talking ringtones, then there could be copyright issues if someone is doing pure covers……otherwise too, a simple fact is tht u might want a particular section of the tune, and not necessarily frm the start of the song/track.
As for paid downloads, PD we discussed this lightly quite some time back thru our mail exchanges. U might want to get a paypal account for starters……everytime someone wants to buy, it has to be routed thru paypal……the money pools in and u can track the downloads…….tht money pooling in can then fund the CCD coupons, etc. (to answer Sumit’s query on the model for funding it :P )

May be I should do a quick survey to find out how many people are interested in purchasing (renting?) music and then work out a system …. I was just waiting to see some more users so that there are enough people interested in buying stuff ……
Have you guys ever purchased amateur music or rather unsigned indian music ? If yes then from which site ? I can look at that
